I spent about five months updating my Shark Tank Blog. I went through every page and post on the site. That’s a total of 3048 posts/pages! I updated the status of every business that appeared on Shark Tank to “today.” I also found businesses that were acquired, closed and even some that acquired other companies.
It was a monumental task, but it needed to be done. When I first started the Shark Tank Blog, there were one or two other sites doing a similar blog. Now there are dozens. I tend to be “above the fold” for a lot of search terms, but I noticed I was slipping. This update was absolutely necessary and the SEO benefits are already noticeable.
I haven’t posted here since June. I wasn’t slacking, as I’ve just said. For most of July, I was traveling. I visited friends and family I hadn’t seen since pre-pandemic. Heck, I hadn’t seen my adult children since Christmas, 2019! My wife and I also did some traveling to some of Florida’s Springs. There are over 900 cool water springs in Florida and they are some of the most beautiful spots I have ever seen. My laptop came with me on my travels.
What Now?
Now that the Shark Tank Blog is updated and I’ve created a process that will allow me to update “on the go,” I can devote time to other projects, including The Awesome Life Blog. I just set up an online tee shirt shop to sell Shark Tank Tee Shirts and Hot Dog Nation Tee Shirts. I am also setting up a website for a local artist and we are putting her art on tee shirts too. The project I was working on with my daughter is stalled due to a lack of interest on her part. Of course, Shark Tank’s 13th season starts on October 8, so that will take a couple of days a week to maintain.
In the fall, the inshore fishing picks up too. If the crappy Florida red tide clears up, I’ll be spending some pre-dawn hours fishing. Now that I have everything updated and some processes in place for better workflow, my goal is to devote more time here.
